US airlines fined for flouting consumer protection rules

The U.S. Transportation Department fined Frontier Airlines $400,000 for violating overbooking and disability rules.

The airlines responded by saying it has ‘taken steps including, introducing a new reporting system’.
American Airlines was fined $250,000 for failing to process refunds to passengers in a timely manner, and Delta Air Lines has to pay $200,000 for failing to report all baggage claims between 2012 and 2015.
