US eases Cuba flight restrictions
The Biden administration scrapped Trump-era restrictions on Cuba by allowing US airline flights to Cuban regional airports again.
President Trump had banned US-Cuba flights beyond Havana. The decision is ‘in support of the Cuban people, and in the foreign policy interests of the United States,’ The US Transportation Department said.
The change is effective immediately.
Apart from Havana, Cuba has international airports at Camaguey, Cayo Coco, Cayo Largo, Cienfuegos, Manzanillo, Matanzas and Santiago de Cuba.
