US firm completes purchase of Barrhead
Barrhead Travel’s sale to US-based Travel Leaders Group has completed.
Contracts have exchanged on the the deal, which was announced last week, said the Glasgow-based agency chain.
Barrhead Travel has joined Colletts Travel, Protravel International UK and Tzell UK within Travel Leaders UK travel portfolio.
The Glasgow-based company will retain its brand, which was established by founder Bill Munro in 1975.
Munro will continue to serve in a strategic advisory role as chairman of the Barrhead division within Travel Leaders Group, while Barrhead’s chief Executive Sharon Munro will continue to manage the business.
No major changes in operations are anticipated, including the terms and conditions of Barrhead’s more than 900 members of staff and agents.
Sharon Munro said: "We are pleased to announce the completion of this transaction and we look forward to being part of a growing family of brands at Travel Leaders Group."
