US warns of possible terror attack at Marriott hotel
The US Embassy in Pakistan warned of a possible terror attack at Islamabad Marriott Hotel.
It ordered Embassy staff not to visit the hotel.
Although it highlighted the Marriott, staff should also avoid other hotels in the city.
Staff of diplomatic missions elsewhere should not travel to Pakistan’s capital unless on official business.
The US is ‘aware that individuals are possibly plotting to attack Americans at the Marriott during the holidays.’
The UK and Australian governments also issued security alerts.
