Vietnam Airlines, China Southern sign landmark JV
The first joint venture between Vietnamese and Chinese airlines has been announced.
The pact between Vietnam Airlines and China Southern Airlines aims to boost air connectivity and efficiency.
The airlines will start coordinating flights schedules, jointly operate on selected routes, and offer interline services for onward travel.
Loyalty members of both carriers will also receive added perks like priority check-in, priority boarding and an extra baggage allowance.
Combined, the airlines operate more than 160 weekly flights between the two countries.
They began partnering 15 years ago through a codeshare agreement and expanded this a few years ago to encompass technical support and ground services.
