Virgin suspends Ghana flights
Virgin is suspending flights to Ghana from September blaming high fuel costs in Ghana and limited flight slots at Heathrow as the reason.
The last Virgin Atlantic service between Heathrow and Accra in Ghana will depart on 23rd September.
A spokesman for Virgin Atlantic said: "We have had to take the difficult decision to suspend our service between London and Accra.
"The price of fuel in Ghana, coupled with a lack of attractive arrival slots into Heathrow and a continued weak global economy, has all contributed to this decision.
"These are still challenging times for the airline industry and we have to deploy our aircraft to routes with the right level of demand to be financially viable."
