Which? recommends just one UK airline
Jet2.com is the only UK airline to be recognised as a consumer’s association ‘recommended provider’, having come fourth in this year’s Which? Travel survey of shorthaul airlines.
It achieved a customer score of 70% and four out of five stars for boarding and seat comfort, despite offering a pitch of only 29 inches. It scored only three stars for value for money but with 84% of its flights ontime, it was one of the most punctual airlines.
The top four shorthaul carriers were Turkish Airlines, Aurigny Air, Icelandair and SAS.
Virgin Atlantic was the most highly ranked UK long-haul carrier, gaining a customer score of 73% and four stars for boarding and seat comfort but only three for value.
Thomson was the most highly rated charter airline for long-haul, coming in ninth place, followed by BA in 10th and Thomas Cook 14th.
For shorthaul services, BA was ranked 11th, easyJet 14th, Flybe 15, Monarch 16 and Thomson 18th.
Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy said: "This is a fantastic accolade to receive, and is something that we are all very proud of.
"What makes recognition like this so important is the fact that it is based on the real-life experiences of paying customers, who we are always striving to deliver the best value and customer service for.
"Being the only UK airline to be awarded Which? Recommended Provider status is testament to the fact that this hard work and dedication is paying off, and that the fantastic customer benefits such as our generous 22kg baggage allowance, friendly flight times, 0% credit fees, and comfortable seating really is working."
