Which travel companies made the top 100 social brands?
Thomson and Thomas Cook have made it into the top 10 of brands in a list measuring brand engagement in social spaces.
Thomson was fourth and Thomas Cook was fifth in the Headstream Social Brands 100.
American Airlines was second and Lufthansa third, while the rest of the top 10 were non-travel related brands (see list below).
Other travel companies that made the top 100 included EasyJet (29), First Choice Holidays (30), Virgin Trains (39), Princess Cruises (50), Delta (54), Butlin’s (87) and Kuoni Travel (95).
For six weeks over 700 brands were monitored on Faceobook, Twitter and Youtube.
According to Headstream managing director Steve Sponder, an average of 10% of marketing budgets is now assigned to social media initiatives.
