Work begins on MSC’s USD350 million Miami terminal
MSC Group’s cruise division celebrated ground breaking for its new $350 million PortMiami cruise terminal.
It is set to become North America’s largest cruise terminal when completed.
The four-storey building will have four embarkation decks able to accommodate up to 36,000 passenger movements a day, and feature enough berthing space to serve three latest generation ships simultaneously.
The new terminal will be able to accommodate MSC Cruises’ largest ships, including its current flagship, MSC Seashore, and the line’s future LNG-powered World Class ships.
Most ships at berth at the new Miami terminal will be able to plug in to the local power grid, in line with PortMiami’s plans to enable shore power connectivity.
The terminal is currently projected to be completed by the end of 2023.
