Worldspan partners with GBTA
Worldspan has become a partner with the Guild of Business Travel Agents.
The GDS said it would use its partner status to provide “focused marketing and awareness-raising initiatives” with guild members.
Worldspan added it would provide industry insights to enable the GBTA’s 35 members to take advantage of e-commerce technology solutions to make their corporate travel management businesses more efficient, productive and profitable.
GBTA members which are corporate travel agency customers of Worldspan include Peltours, Travel Centre Norwich, Review Travel Management and TravelStore.com
Graham Nichols, Worldspan’s vice president and general manager – Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, said: “Travel management companies need to focus on operational efficiency and service excellence, utilising web technologies and best-of-breed e-commerce practices.
“Worldspan’s technology expertise and proven leadership to leverage the internet as a reservations, sales, marketing and communications solution will be available to all GBTA members through a series of educational and awareness forums in autumn of this year.”
Guild chief executive Philip Carlisle said: “The guild and its members are very pleased that Worldspan is a GBTA partner, and we anticipate a highly dynamic exchange of information and opinion. This new relationship promises to be educational and productive.”
