YOTEL picks Melbourne for Australia debut
Melbourne will welcome Australia’s first YOTEL in 2022.
The boutique ‘microtel’ brand signed a management agreement with Cornerstone Partners Group for the 244-room YOTEL Melbourne which will be located in Southbank, near Melbourne’s CBD.
The hotel will have all the YOTEL signature amenities including the KOMYUNITI social space, a 24/7 gym and viewing deck with restaurant and bar.
"Over the past two years, we have been actively searching for the right locations and partners to roll out our brands in Australia, a key market for our global expansion. Melbourne is the perfect gateway to launch our first property in the country," said YOTEL CEO Hubert Viriot.
YOTEL Melbourne will be the flagship Australian property but is only the start, the company says.
It is planning to bring all three of its brands to the region including YOTELAIR airport hotels and the YOTELPAD extended stay concept.
The company is exploring opportunities in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, Viriot said.
