Azamara first to offer virtual reality cruising
Azamara Club Cruises has become the first cruise line to offer a virtual reality taster of cruising to customers.
It is using Oculus Rift technology for Azamara 3DI – which creates 360-degree tours of ships and land tour experiences.
Customers with Oculus Rift headsets can enjoy the 3D virtual tours via the cruise line’s VR webpage at www.azamara3di.com
These include immersive experiences ziplining in Costa Rica, a horse and carriage ride through Cartagena and crossing the Panama Canal.
"Our new Azamara 3DI experiential series will be a game-changer in vacation planning," says Larry Pimentel, president and chief executive of Azamara Club Cruises.
"As travelers and travel partners research our offerings and itineraries, we need to arm them with the best tools possible to ensure they have the resources they need to make a well informed decision about which voyage is best for them."
