BA Connect in route shake-up
British Airways is introducing direct links between London City and Milan on its regional carrier, BA Connect, but withdrawing its Geneva service from the same airport.
The daily service to the Italian fashion capital will start on May 2 with fares from £89 return.
The carrier is also adding flights from Birmingham to Berlin and Belfast and increasing its frequency from London City to Edinburgh from five to seven a day.
BA Connect head of commercial development David Neill said: “Milan has consistently been one of the most requested routes by our regular passengers at London City.
“Both Milan and Edinburgh are major economic forces…and are important tourist destinations. The mix of business and leisure traffic makes this an important addition to BA Connect’s growing route network.”
BA Connect – the new brand for CitiExpress – said the Geneva service will be withdrawn for the summer season.
