Banyan Tree plans Singapore eco-resort
Singapore based luxury resort group Banyan Tree Holdings has revealed plans for its first hotel in the Lion City.
It will be an eco-themed resort located in Singapore’s reimagined Mandai Wildlife Park zone.
Located in the centre of the city state, Mandai is home to the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari and River Safari, while the Jurong Bird Park and Rainforest Park will relocate there.
The four story property will have 400 guestrooms, allowing park visitors to stay overnight in Mandai for the first time.
"This stayover experience forms an integral part of our overall vision for the Mandai nature and wildlife precinct – to inspire guests to value and conserve biodiversity through memorable experiences," said Mandai Park Holdings group chief executive Mike Barclay.
Barclay said the design layout has been carefully considered to minimise any impact on the environment which includes noise abatement measures.
The hotel will provide a host of eco-focused activities including lectures on conservation and guided nature walks.
It is expected to open by 2023.
