British couple ‘wed’ onboard transatlantic jet
A British couple have celebrated their 42nd wedding ceremony 10,000m in the air on an Air Tahiti Nui jet somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean between Paris and Los Angeles.
Alex Pelling and Lisa Gant were en route to Tahiti for their honeymoon.
The couple are travelling the globe exchanging vows in unique wedding locations, including a horseback wedding in Canada and a wedding in an Ecuador temple, in search of the perfect place to wed.
During the Air Tahiti Nui ceremony, the bride and groom walked down the aircraft aisle and met in the first row where the flight’s chief purser recited the ceremony in English and French before declaring the couple united as "2 people 1 life".
Alex and Lisa each vowed to be "life long travel partners" before placing the national flower of Tahiti, a Tiare flower, behind each other’s ears as a symbol of commitment.
