British teen drowns while diving with dolphins
A teenager has died while swimming with dolphins off Mauritius.
Callum Howkins, 17, from Hinckley in Leicestershire, failed to surface during a dive at Tamarin Bay and his body was recovered an hour later by the coastguard.
The tragedy happened on August 29. Callum was in Mauritius to attend his father’s wedding, at which he was best man.
Police say the skipper of the dive boat had been arrested, but insist Callum had not been dragged down by the dolphins.
