CAA pushes for airline climate impact rating system

Thursday, 12 Jan, 2023 0

The UK Civil Aviation Authority launched a Call for Evidence on airline climate impact data.

It seeks views on what environmental information should be provided.

It wants to share the information in a way that is consistent and enables people to make informed choices.

It follows research which found that consumers want more airline climate impact information.

Some currently provide environmental information, but there is no standard approach.

Standardising this will help people find reliable information, the CAA says.

Views are sought from aviation, consumer and environmental groups.

The work is part of the CAA’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy, which supports the  Jet Zero Strategy.

The Call for Evidence runs until 7 April 2023.
