Carlson Hotels appoints a new CEO

Carlson Hotels has named Federico Gonzalez Tejera as new CEO.

Tejera was chief executive of sister company NH Hotels Group and replaces David Berg, who leaves on February 1.

"David Berg led Carlson Hotels through a successful period of global portfolio growth while at the same time increasing profitability, improving competitiveness, and delivering substantial gains in guest satisfaction. Federico has an established track record and long-held experience in the hospitality industry, and we are confident in his ability to build upon this strong foundation," said Carlson Hotels chairman Charles Mobus Jr.

Tejera was previously a senior executive at Disneyland Paris and spent many years prior with Proctor and Gamble throughout Europe.

Carlson is now part of China conglomerate HNA Group’s vast hospitality portfolio after being acquired last year.

HNA also has a significant shareholding in Spain based NH Hotels.
