Cathay Pacific extends free Wi-Fi
Hong Kong based Cathay Pacific now offers free in-flight Wi-Fi service for First and Business class fliers.
In fact, Cathay Pacific has been providing complimentary Wi-Fi to First class customers since 2022.
Following successful trials on selected flights, the airline has now extended free in-flight Wi-Fi to Business class customers on all connected aircraft.
This will be further extended to Cathay Diamond members travelling in all cabins from November this year.
Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau said: “We are committed to investing in and further elevating the experience we provide for our customers.’’
Customers using Cathay Pacific’s free Wi-Fi service get the same experience as paid Wi-Fi, enabling them to browse and stream audio, use social media and messaging apps, and access cloud storage services.
Customers can connect with one device at a time, and can switch between devices at any time during their flight.
Furthermore, all customers in all cabins get complimentary access to all pages on cathaypacific.com and the Cathay Shop during their flight.
Over 90% of Cathay Pacific’s fleet is equipped with Wi-Fi, including all long-haul aircraft.
The airline plans to extend connectivity across the entire fleet by mid-2025.
