Dnata takes majority stake in Imagine Cruising
Dnata Travel has taken a 51% stake in cruise and stay retailer Imagine Cruising.
Iain Andrew, divisional senior vice president of dnata’s travel business, said the deal ‘adds expertise in the growing cruise sector, strengthening our position as an international leader in travel services’.
Imagine Cruising MD Robin Deller said the partnership ‘will support the development of both businesses’.
“Dnata’s recent international growth highlights its commitment to the travel industry around the world,” he said.
“Each business and its customers will benefit from enhanced products and services, and the expertise each organisation brings.”
The deal is subject to regulatory approval in South Africa as Swindon-based Imagine Cruising also has offices in Cape Town.
The groups said dnata and Imagine Cruising will continue to operate independently pending completion.
This latest deal comes after dnata bought Travel Republic, Gold Medal and Stella Travel Services.
