More than 2,000 people on a cruise ship have been prevented from disembarking at an Indian port because of a Covid outbreak.

The Empress. operated by Cordelia Cruises has been prevented from docking at Goa due to 66 positive cases.

The ship is on a domestic Mumbai-Goa cruise.

Goa health minister Vishwajit Rane said authorities are still deciding how and when to allow healthy passengers to disembark.

"Out of 2000 samples tested from the Cordelia cruise ship, 66 passengers tested positive," Rane tweeted.
