EasyJet celebrates 40 million passengers at Glasgow Airport
EasyJet has marked the milestone of carrying 40 million passengers on Glasgow flights.
The Bishop family flying to Malaga from Glasgow Airport were gifted free easyJet return flights as the 40 millionth fliers.
The milestone celebration comes after new Glasgow flights were launched to beach and city destinations.
They include Lisbon and Porto in Portugal, Agadir, Belfast City and Chania.
Last month easyJet also announced a new winter route from Glasgow to Southampton with twice weekly departures.
EasyJet now operates Glasgow flights to 29 destinations across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
The airline will operate its largest ever flying programme from Scotland this summer.
Overall, it offers 6.3 million seats to and from Scotland, around a million more than summer 2019.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager said: “We are so proud to mark this key milestone. Our first flight took off 27 years ago.”
“Since then we’ve been committed to Glasgow and to providing great value fares.”
EasyJet’s first Glasgow flight took off on 10 November 1995 from London Luton.
It says easyJet is the largest airline in Scotland.
