Elite opts for Lanzarote as conference venue
Elite Travel Group is to hold its annual conference in Lanzarote in the autumn.
The event will take place on October 16-20 at the Gran Meliá Salinas Hotel – a week after the ABTA Travel Convention also in the Canary Islands.
The independent travel agency consortium hopes to top last year’s attendance in Jerez, taking numbers to more than 200.
Conference chairman Wayne Darrock said: “Our conference theme is ‘Pure Elite’. We aim to keep all our presentations short and to the point with every subject and topic relevant to our members.”
Spanish Tourist Office director Ignacio Vasallo said: “With the tourism board of Lanzarote and the government of the Canary Islands, we welcome Elite Travel Group back to Spain for their landmark annual conference.
“Working with Elite, and with the support and collaboration of all involved, we can develop even stronger working relationships between the destination and the UK tourism market.
“One of our key commitments is to not only sustain but to ensure the growth of UK visitors to Lanzarote and Spain as a whole, and we are continually working to exceed visitor expectations.”
