Emirates posts largest half year airline profit
The Emirates Group just announced its best-ever half year airline profit.
It reported a net profit of AED10.1 billion (US$ 2.7 billion), easily surpassing last year’s record half-year profit.
Group revenue was AED 67.3 billion (US$ 18.3 billion) for the first six months of 2023-24, up 20% from last year.
This was driven by strong demand across all regions.
So far, Emirates has repaid AED9.2 billion of its Covid-19 related loans.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, said: “The Group has surpassed previous records to report our best-ever half-year.”
“This is a tremendous achievement that speaks to the talent and the commitment within the organisation, and the strength of our business.”
The number of employees grew 6% compared to six months ago to a total of 108,996.
Both Emirates and dnata have ongoing recruitment drives.
