Eurostar’s Amsterdam service exceeds expectations
Eurostar’s new Amsterdam service helped boost Eurotunnel’s revenue 5% to €958.4 million in 2018.
The train operator had a record year, with a 7% increase in passengers to almost 11 million.
Eurotunnel said the new Amsterdam service had been ‘more successful than expected’ and new services to the Dutch city have been announced for the summer.
The number of cars using the Channel Tunnel was also up last year, rising 3% to a total of 2.7 million, although there was no increase in the number of coaches using Le Shuttle, which was around 51,000.
Revenue from Shuttle Services increased by 6% to €636.4 million.
