Fire disrupts Gatwick Express trains
A fire on a railway line near Gatwick was the cause of severe disruption to train services to the airport yesterday.
The blaze, which broke out in the morning, created havoc for holidaymakers.
The fire, caused by a power supply problem near the airport’s train station, triggered~delays of up to an hour on Gawick Express, Southern and Thameslink services.
Network Rail apologised for the delays. Trains are expected to be running normally today.
