Flights to Turkey cancelled due to heavy snow and winds
Scores of flights to Turkey have been cancelled due to bad weather.
Istanbul’s main airport Istanbul Ataturk International has been worst affected but Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International is also experiencing cancellations.
Turkish Airlines was forced to cancel 169 – 23% of its flights. The airline said on its website that they had been affected by bad weather.
Weather forecasts predict heavy snow and strong winds.
96 flights were cancelled out of Istanbul Ataturk and 82 due to fly into Istanbul Ataturk including a flight from Birmingham International due in this afternoon.
