Flybe claims record carryings
Low cost carrier Flybe saw passenger numbers rise by 30% in September to a record of almost 389,000 on the same time last year.
Yield growth rose by 10% year-on-year, a level the airline claims is unique against its competitors.
The expanding airline recently increased capacity across its network of 57 routes by a fifth and announced four new routes to regional points in France.
Sales and maketing director Mike Rutter said: “These figures reflect our increased operations throughout the year, focussing on marrying convenient regaional travel with great value and choice.
“They really fly in the face of all criticism on the future of low cost travel and vindicate our aggressive investment and expansion policy over that past 12 months.”
