GoAir chief executive resigns
GoAir CEO has quit the airline just one year after joining.
Vinay Dube resigned his post and will be replaced by Kaushik Khona.
Khona is a familiar face as he was the airline’s CEO for more than two years back in 2009.
Vinay Dube joined GoAir in August 2019 as a consultant after leaving bankrupt Jet Airways.
He was then appointed CEO in February.
"Vinay Dube has ceased to be in the employment of GoAir with immediate effect. The Nominations & Remuneration Committee and the board met today and have appointed Kaushik Khona as CEO," GoAir said in the statement.
It marks the third CEO change in just two years.
Wadia Group owned GoAir has been struggling during the Covid-19 crisis and has more than 70% of its staff on unpaid leave since India imposed a nationwide lockdown several months ago.
Although the lockdown ended in late May and domestic flights have resumed, GoAir has restarted only a small fraction of its scheduled services.
