Great Scots band together in tourism push
A new consortium of Scottish attractions, sporting facilities and hotels is to be launched next week.
Great Scotland is made up of 12 of Scotland’s top quality tourism facilities, who have come together to offer travel trade and consumers a variety of flexible products and special offers targeted at leisure, corporate and incentive markets.
The members are located within short travelling distances of each other in Tayside and Fife. Each member is easily reached from all Scottish cities and tourism gateways.
“This means visitors will spend less time travelling long distances across Scotland and more time enjoying the very best facilities that our country has to offer,” a spokesman said.
A Great Scotland logo, website and travel trade CD-Rom will be launched at the VisitScotland Expo 2005 in Aberdeen on April 13.
The spokesman added: “Great Scotland members guarantee exemplary accommodation, activities, attractions, golf, history and hospitality. Accommodation ranges from a renowned international resort and spa to intimate and luxurious country house hotels. Adventure activities are available to corporate and leisure clients at a number of scenic locations that show the best of Scottish landscapes.”
Attractions include Scotland’s most popular great houses, award-winning heritage centres, golf courses and visitor centres showcasing famous food and drink.
