Grifco snapped up by US public relations giant
Travel and lifestyle public relations firm Grifco has been acquired by US-based PR and marketing giant MMGY Global.
Grifco and its sister company Ophir PR will both become part of MMGY Global’s London operation, alongside Hills Balfour which was acquired by MMGY earlier this year.
The company’s founder Claire Griffin will remain as Grifco managing director and at Ophir PR as executive director.
She will partner with MMGY Global’s senior management team to ‘grow the agency’s European footprint in the luxury travel sector’.
Integration will begin later this year but MMGY Global will retain the name and it will now be known as Grifco, an MMGY Global Company. Ophir PR will continue to operate as a separate brand.
"We are thrilled to be working with MMGY Global particularly as we will now have access to highly complementary services and exciting options for our clients and staff. It will undoubtedly help our business evolve to the next level," said Griffin.
"This merger will allow us to retain the boutique luxury elements that Grifco and Ophir PR teams have developed, while drawing on the MMGY Global expertise. It will also extend MMGY Global’s worldwide footprint, industry experience and strength across all marketing services through Grifco and Ophir PR, offering a truly comprehensive solution and even greater benefit to our current and future clients."
