Harvey World introduces self-service ‘pods’
Comtec has joined forces with Harvey World Travel to introduce self-service pods in branches.
The technology within the pods has been adapted for use in store from solutions Comtec already provides on consumer websites.
The pods enable consumers to search and book holidays as well as choose different methods of payment including cash and credit cards.
At the moment the technology only enables customers to research and book traditional packages.
However, the plan is to allow dynamic packaging of holiday components when the next version of the technology is released.
According to Comtec chief executive Simon Powell if the pods are successful they could be introduced in Virgin Megastores across the country.
Virgin Holidays and Harvey World Travel revealed plans in May to open a chain of about 300 co-branded high street travel agencies over the next few years.
