Holiday Extras expands Covid insurance to countries on FCO’s ‘don’t travel’ list
Holiday Extras has expanded its Covid-19 insurance range to provide for countries not on the FCO’s exemption list.
The company is offering the product through insurance company Battleface, which has a 4.8 out of 5 score on review site Feefo.
The new Battleface policy, underwritten by Lloyd’s of London, is an addition to Holiday Extras’ existing travel insurance range, which includes Covid-19 travel insurance cover for destinations on the FCO exemption list.
The travel insurance policy will provide cover, for example if customers fall ill and require medical or emergency assistance 24/7 including medical expenses incurred by Covid-19, loss of baggage, personal money and passport and personal liability.
Holiday Extras Insurance Director Howard Dove said: "Initially we’ll simply link out to battleface’s website, but we’re working to integrate the product with our call centre and ultimately offer this option to customers via a smart drop-down menu if they select a destination that’s not on the FCO exemption list."
Battleface CEO Sasha Gainullin added: "We’re excited to be working with Holiday Extras to offer our insurance to their eight million customers a year, and to expand their coverage so those travellers can get the protection they need no matter where in the world they’re travelling."
