Hotelbeds has launched a global Corporate Volunteering programme.

The initiative forms part of its Corporate Sustainability plan and encourages employees to actively participate in volunteering opportunities worldwide, benefitting around 50 NGOs.

The programme has recently been launched at the company’s headquarters in Palma de Mallorca, Spain where it employs 1,650 people.

The volunteering scheme has also been implemented in the Hotelbeds offices in London, Bangkok, Beijing, Cancun, Dubai, Orlando, Shanghai, Singapore and Tel Aviv, reaching a total of 3,000 of the group’s 5,000 employees worldwide.

Teresa Laso, corporate sustainability lead at Hotelbeds, said: "We are increasingly aware of our impact on the communities in which we are present and, therefore, we have a great responsibility to be an example of change and to share these values with our employees.

"With these kinds of initiatives, we intend to improve the local communities in which our employees are present. We listened to employees in order to offer different proposals close to their hearts and within our corporate sustainability strategy."

So far, 150 group volunteering activities have been organised around the globe and over 1,000 employees have already signed up.
