Hotelbeds unveils new bedbank structure
Hotelbeds Group has unveiled a new structure for its bedbank business as part of the integration of Tourico Holidays and GTA.
Following a strategic review, it has divided its functions into seven departments – commercial strategy, strategic partnerships, global business services, product management, retail travel agencies, wholesale, and sourcing.
Asi Ginio, formerly CEO of Tourico Holidays, becomes director of commercial strategy and strategic opartnerships.
Alex Brandle, who was senior vice president business transformation for GTA, becomes director global business services.
Peter Mansour joins from outside group to become director of product management.~He previously worked in senior roles at companies such as Microsoft and eBay.
Alistair Roger, who recently joined GTA from Laterooms where he was chief commercial officer, has been appointed director retail travel agencies.
Sam Turner, who has been with Hotelbeds for many years and was previously director of sales, is now director wholesale and sourcing.
Gareth Matthews will continue as director marketing and communications for the group, with his scope now widened to include the Tourico Holidays and GTA brands. Additionally he will take on responsibility for sponsorship partnerships.
All of them will report directly to Carlos Munoz, managing director of Hotelbeds Group’s Bedbank.
They will also be members of an Executive Committee.~
"In just over three months the integration has progressed significantly," said Munoz.
"Cross-selling is already underway across the various businesses and already we’re recruiting an additional 200 roles in the contracting and yield teams who will fulfill our objective of directly contracting 10,000 new hotels over the coming three years.~
"To reflect this strong leadership position after careful consideration we have adapted the departmental structure of our bedbank business. We have created these new areas and appointed senior management from across our three brands to lead them, even bringing in new talent from outside of the business.
"I look forward to providing further updates on our ambitious plans for our bedbank in due course."
