IndiGo jets in mid-air near miss
More than 300 passengers came within just 200 feet of a mid-air collision above India earlier this week.
Two IndiGo planes averted a mid-air collision just in time as the two jets’ Traffic Collision Avoidance System licked in.
India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Board has begun an investigation into the near miss.
It happen in Bengaluru airspace as an IndiGo on the Coimbatore-Hyderabad route narrowly avoided a Bengaluru-Cochin flight.
The airline confirmed the incident with the two aircraft only about 200 feet apart when the TCAS warning went off.
"The TCAS-Resolution Advisory system was triggered on two of our aircraft operating Coimbatore-Hyderabad and Bengaluru-Cochin routes, respectively," IndiGo said in a statement.
"Following normal procedure this has been reported to the regulator."
