Irked over airport fees, Ryanair suspends Israel flights again
Ryanair is again suspending Israel flights
Ryanair is calling out Tel Aviv airport officials over high airport fees, and wants the airport to quickly reopen Terminal 1.
The airline wants Ben Gurion International Airport Terminal 1 to reopen to enable low cost air travel to resume again.
Ryanair, says being forced to operate at Terminal 3, results in significantly higher costs.
Ryanair says it sought approval from the airport to apply the agreed Terminal 1 passenger charges to Ryanair flights until Terminal 1 was reopened, but this was denied.
So, Ryanair has suspended Tel Aviv flights once again until the low fair terminal reopens again, it said.
The airline only restarted Tel Aviv flights a few weeks ago.
Ryanair DAC CEO, Eddie Wilson, said: “We worked hard to re-establish Ryanair’s low fare flights to Tel Aviv on 1t Feb. We were deeply disappointed by the refusal to reopen the low-cost Terminal 1.”
“Ryanair wishes to support the airport and the recovery of air travel to/from Israel, but we cannot do so, or ask our passengers to pay higher air fares.”
