Is that a Boeing in my backyard?
MUMBAI: Mumbai streets were blocked last weekend not by rickshaws, cows or horse-drawn carts but rather by a large aircraft: a Boeing 737.
The decommissioned plane was being driven through Mumbai when the driver got lost, realised he was approaching a low flyover, panicked and abandoned his cargo. He disappeared and no one is taking responsibility.
Vamsi Shastri, an engineering student, told BBC News, “I’ve been fascinated with planes and never seen one so closely. It’s huge.”
Other residents are happy that the plane had become a tourist attraction.
The Boeing used to belong to Air Sahara and the main body was being taken to Delhi.
