Jet Airways has joined hands with budget carrier Jetstar Asia to offer customers better connectivity via Singapore.

Under a new codesharing agreement, Jet Airways will place its ‘9W’ code on Jetstar Asia flights from Singapore to 11 Asia Pacific destinations.

These include Bangkok, Perth, Jakarta, Denpasar Bali and Surabaya in Indonesia, Ho-Chi-Minh City, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.

It also gives Jet Airways three completely new codeshare destinations – to Darwin, Phuket and Penang.

"Jetstar Asia flies to some of the most popular leisure and business destinations across the Asia Pacific. With this codeshare agreement, our guests will now be able to conveniently tap into this extensive network," said Jayaraj Shanmugam, Jet Airways’ chief commercial officer.

Jet Airways flies to Singapore from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru.

The agreement also gives the airline’s JetPrivilege members the opportunity to earn miles on Jetstar operated flights which also counts toward tier status.

"The Jetstar Asia codeshare partnership builds on the expanding base of leading full-service carriers choosing to partner with us. As the first low-fare codeshare partner for Jet Airways, this partnership is testament of the confidence full-service carriers have in our product and customer service on board our flights," said Jetstar’s head of commercial, Francis Loi.
