Jet ski gang murder causes panic at Cancun beach resort
A targeted killing was carried out on a busy Cancun beach by hitmen on jet skis, causing vacationers to flee in panic.
The hit took place on a beach beside the Hotel Riu Caribe, located in the Cancun hotel zone.
A man in his 30s was shot repeatedly by four men.
Two of them escaped on jet skis while two others left on foot.
Many people on the beach fled into the hotel for cover.
It was a targeted hit with no other people harmed.
It had all the hallmarks of a revenge attack.
The State Attorney General said the dead man was implicated in the accidental murder of a 12-year-old child and the shooting of two people on a Cancun bus.
The AG said he was the getaway driver in the botched shooting of the 12-year-old.
It is not the first time hitmen have pulled up to the beach on jet skis to target rival gangs.
