Jet2 reports booking surge for green, amber destinations
Jet2 says it has experienced a huge surge in bookings to green and amber list destinations on the back of the Government extending the list of destinations holidaymakers can travel to this summer.
It says summer 2021 bookings for flights and Jet2holidays packages increased more than 250% overall.
Fully vaccinated Jet2 customers are now able to fly to over 40 quarantine-free destinations this summer from ten UK bases, including the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, mainland Spain, Portugal, Malta, Croatia, Greece and Cyprus.
"The latest traffic light review comes just in time for the peak summer season. We welcome a further extension of the green and amber Lists, and it is positive news for both the travel industry and holidaymakers," Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said.
"It is no surprise to see a sudden spike in bookings to destinations on the Green and Amber Lists, as we know that there is enormous demand out there from holidaymakers who cannot wait to get away."
