Lufthansa Expands Network and Increases Flight Services
While other airlines cut back on existing flights and routes, Lufthansa increases its flight services this winter with an expanded route network that will encompass 194 destinations in 79 countries, compared with 188 destinations last winter.
Their capacity from Oct. 26 to March 28, 2009 will be increased by 2.4 per cent across Lufthansa’s route network in the 2008 winter timetable. The number of long-haul flights will be increased from 1,064 to 1,124. All 11 year-round destinations introduced in the 2008 summer timetable, including Calgary, will continue to be served.
Available capacity on long-haul routes from Dusseldorf, which was increased this year, was successful. On these routes, there will be a regular seasonal change in the winter timetable, service to Toronto will be replaced by a new connection to Miami.
