Lufthansa pilots stage third day of strikes
Lufthansa pilots are going ahead with another strike today (Friday), this time affecting short and medium haul flights.
Pilots union Vereinigung Cockpit has already called two days of strikes this week as part of a long-running dispute over early retirement benefits and Lufthansa’s plans to expand its budget operations.
The airline group said it is expecting to be able to fly 75% of flights on Friday.
It is advising passengers to check the status of their flight and said services operated by Germanwings and Eurowings are not affected.
Passengers whose flights were cancelled can re-book onto another flight free of charge.
Last year, strikes cost Lufthansa £165 million.
