Massive Thanksgiving preview for Oasis

The world’s largest cruise ship Oasis of the Seas is to be showcased to the UK and international travel industry at a special Thanksgiving weekend event in Miami.
The 5,400-passenger Royal Caribbean International ship will be shown off to hundreds of UK trade partners and other international industry guests at the end of November prior to entering service the following month.
The massive vessel, 40% bigger than current world beaters Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas and Independence of the Seas, is to operate Caribbean itineraries from Florida.
Oasis of the Seas, featuring seven distinct areas, is currently under construction in a shipyard in Turku, Finland.
Although the vessel will be transferring to Florida, the cruise line does not feel the UK weather conditions in November would best highlight the ship, so will be flying key agents to Miami for the US Thanksgiving weekend event.
The event was confirmed by associate vice-president and general manager UK and Ireland Jo Rzymowska as the company released details of its programmes for Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises for 2010.
A 2010 Europe and The Med brochure features a return of Independence of the Seas for summer sailings from Southampton as well as three and four-night breaks and fly-cruises between January and April 2010 from Dubai on Brilliance of the Seas.
Dubai cruise-only rates start at £879, while eight-night fly-cruise packages lead-in at £1,299.
An early booking discount of up to £400 applies to bookings made between March 12 and July 31 for 14-night Mediterannean itineraries by Independence of the Seas from Southampton.
Sailings on the Solstice-class ship Celebrity Eclipse from Southampton in summer 2010 feature predominantly in a Europe and Mediterranean brochure from the premium line.
Early booking discounts of £200 per person apply when the programme goes on sale on Tuesday (March 10).
Celebrity Cruises hopes to generate 40,000 new passengers by having the 2,850-passenger ship operating from the UK, while sister ships Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Solstice will also be deployed on Mediterranean fly-cruises alongside Celebrity Constellation running Med and Baltics itineraries.
Two four-night taster cruises from Southampton to Cork on Celebrity Eclipse starts at £499 as part of a range of departures of up to 16 nights in duration.
The ship is scheduled to operate 26 departures from Southampton including the western and eastern Med, Scandinavia and Russia and the Canary Islands.
Celebrity Cruises will be hosting 5,500 agents on board Celebrity Equinox in Southampton this July as part of a week of inaugural events prior to the ship entering service.
