MAXjet founder quits suddenly
The founder and CEO of transatlantic business class carrier MAXjet has abruptly left the company
A statement from the airline said Gary Rogliano had left the company “to pursue other opportunities”. No other explanation was given.
MAXjet chairman Bill Stockbridge has stepped in as president and CEO with immediate effect.
Stockbridge has been closely involved with the industry’s first low-fare, all-business-class transatlantic airline since its inception in November 2003. It now operates from Stansted to New York, Washington and Las Vegas, with other routes planned fro 2007. As chairman he was instrumental in the airline’s certification, development of its business plan, financings and aircraft acquisition.
Board member Rick Sharp has agreed to serve as chairman. He has experience building US companies such as Carmax, Circuit City, Crocs and Flextronics.
Stockbridge most recently he served as CEO of Centurion Air Cargo. He also founded Gemini Air Cargo and served as its president and CEO.
He said: “I would like to thank Gary and the MAXjet team for their hard work and dedication.
“I will work closely with our team to accelerate MAXjet’s expansion. Our new Las Vegas service has been a strong success, we take delivery of additional aircraft in early 2007 and we look forward to announcing new routes shortly.”
