Minor Hotels, Pan Pacific buy stakes in Global Hotel Alliance
Asia based hotel groups Minor Hotels and Pan Pacific have each made a stake purchase in Global Hotel Alliance.
GHA operates the multi-brand loyalty programme, DISCOVERY and claims to be the world’s largest alliance of independent hotel brands.
GHA hosts a portfolio of 33 hotel brands with a combined 550 hotels in 77 countries, including both Minor’s and Pan Pacific’s brands.
"We are delighted that Minor and Pan Pacific, both long-standing members of the alliance, have chosen to become shareholders alongside our founding joint venture partners, Omni Hotels and Resorts, Kempinski Hotels and Oracle Corporation," said Chris Hartley, GHA’s CEO.
"As we look forward to celebrating our 15th anniversary in 2019, we are making substantial investments in CRM and shared technology to build on the success of the DISCOVERY loyalty programme."
Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor and Lothar Nessmann, CEO of Pan Pacific will take a seat on the GHA board of directors.
Bangkok-based Minor has a portfolio of 160 hotels under various brands including Anantara, AVANI, Elewana, Tivoli and Oaks.
Pan Pacific operates Pan Pacific and PARKROYAL brands in Asia, Australasia and North America.
"Pan Pacific was a founder member of GHA in 2004, and we have seen first-hand how the alliance can drive large volumes of corporate and leisure business into hotels across our brands," Nessmann said.
