MSC Foundation, IUCN partner to save coral reefs

The MSC Foundation teamed up with the International Union for Conservation of Nature to help conserve coral reefs.
It will enable the completion of the global assessment of coral reef species on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
The assessment project aims to deliver actionable restoration plans for coral reefs, as well as the species populating them.
The project will include prioritisng conservation and restoration actions based on the threats they face.
“Our new partnership is a powerful commitment to conserve threatened coral reefs, and seagrass beds,” said Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Group Cruise Division.
The partnership will also contribute to the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
