National Express coaching boss takes the wheel at Shearings
Ex-National Express bus and coaching CEO Denis Wormwell has become chief executive of WA Shearings.
He takes over from long-term chief executive John Slatcher who is to become a non-executive director of the coach tour operator.
The change at the top came as the company announced a relaunch under the name Shearings Holidays – dropping all reference to the former Wallace Arnold brand.
Wormwell joins after six years at National Express where he was chief executive of the bus and coach divisions.
His extensive travel industry experience includes Club 18-30, Flying Colours and Thomas Cook.
He said: “The complete holiday experience market is an exciting place to work. Our customer is continually looking for fresh ideas and exciting destinations from us and the future will see WA Shearings deliver more than they expect in choice, value and service.”
