A new public relations company with a focus on travel aims to work across digital, social media, as well as traditional channels.
Umpf is headed by Adrian Johnson, a former board director of Leeds and London agency Lucre.
He has previously worked with clients such as Jet2.com, Leger Holidays, i-to-i, La Manga Club, Cruise.co.uk, Best Western, QHotels and Yorkshire Tourist Board.
“We’re looking to give the travel industry some additional publicity ‘Umpf’ by applying clever, creative, strategic and measured PR campaigns to new channels,” said Johnson.
“The concept behind Umpf is to take PR beyond what agencies typically provide and help our clients engage and interact with bigger audiences.”
He added: “In the last 18 months, PR has evolved and expanded at a faster pace than at probably any other time in its history and the convergence with the digital industries presents agencies such as ours with more exciting and more diverse opportunities to promote clients.
“Our aim is to make Umpf one of the leading travel PR agencies in the North.”
