Online agent training on new TIPTO website
The Truly Independent Professional Travel Organisation claims to have created a comprehensive website with product information and interactive training for independent agents.
The 20-member marketing organisation has made a “major investment” in the site, which goes live on February 1 and includes the launch of the online TIPTO Academy training facility. The address is unchanged at www.tipto.co.uk.
Replacing TIPTO’s long-standing site, the new website is designed to be more pro-active, allows greater interaction between TIPTO members and independent agents, acts as a communication channel and sees a major step forward in training capability.
Head of TIPTO’s technology committee Diane Court (Gold Medal Travel Group) said: “A huge amount of time, effort and money has gone into the development of this new site, which we believe to be one of the most extensive of its type in the UK.
“Independent agents can now access just one site to gain an exceptionally broad range of product information from our 20 members, as well as additional material about TIPTO itself.
“We also feel we are leading the way with the launch of the TIPTO Academy, a training facility that covers all 20 members and encourages agents to work through it in easily-digestible stages.”
TIPTO is offering prizes of £50 shopping vouchers to the first 10 agents who successfully complete all 20 training modules.
Each TIPTO member will have its own regularly-updated training module. An e-mail trigger will tell those companies which agents have completed their module. On completion of each module, agents automatically receive feedback, including the answers to questions they have answered incorrectly.
Agents who do not access the site for three months after completing a module are sent an e-mail to encourage them to continue their training.
Independent agents registering as users of the site automatically get their own personal diary, which tracks their progress in the academy, as well as providing a calendar of TIPTO events and highlights news flashes from TIPTO members.
From the end of February agents will also be able to book online for places at TIPTO’s roadshows.
